Baptismal Preparation Part II

This is the second installment of my previous blog regarding the preparation I did for Keisha’s baptismal celebration.

– RECEPTION

The first consideration that I took in choosing for a possible venue for the reception was its proximity to the church. Since my auntie is a condo unit owner in Marquinton Residences in Marikina we reserved the Marquinton Clubhouse which was 5 minutes away from the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish.  The ambiance in that place is relaxing since guests will be passing its huge pool area before reaching the clubhouse. The place can only accommodate 130-140 pax that’s why our guests came in batches – 1st and 2nd batch, since we were expecting 150 -200 guests.

– CATERER

We still have a hang-over with the tasteful dishes of Evelyn’s Catering, so we didn’t look for other options for the catering service. I highly recommend Tita Evelyn , she serves sumptuous food, gives a+ service, has an excellent working team  and she manages to establish good rapport to her potential client in an instant. I’ve tasted so many menus from different caterers but so far, no one beats Tita Evelyn’s dishes. She has a wide-array of different menus and she also gives you a worry-free party. As promised, all you need on your big day is to smile infront of the camera because every detail was already set and prepared by her. No wonder why most of our guests got her catering service too in their own respective parties.

– GIVE-AWAYS

We had 2 sets of give-aways, one for the godparents which was a personalized mug (it has a picture of Keisha on one side and the other side was with the picture of her ninong/ninang – photos came from their own Facebook accounts, at the center was Keisha’s real footprints together with the date, venue and her complte name.

The other set of the give-aways are for the guests – a variety of acrylic keychain with Keisha’s picture and Keisha soap (combination of Placenta and Glutathione soap).  There were keychains with calendar, can opener and just the ordinary ones. These keychains were sold like hotcakes in the venue.

– CAKE

Her cake on her baptismal day was not her first cake since she had a Banapple cake on her first month birthday. Having an idea from an elementary classmate, I chose Kitchen Krafts for her baptismal cake. My husband and I went to their office in Mandaluyong to choose a special design for Keisha. I wanted it to be colorful and girly but still its looks has to be for a baby.  And I was so happy to see the cake in actual. It’s beautiful and the saying “looks can be deceiving” didn’t apply since its taste is so yummy. It’s one of the best cakes that I tasted.

– BALLOON DECOR

Since we were on a tight budget (my husband being the only financier), the venue decoration was made by my mom. She’s a graduate of Yoyo Balloons in Katipunan so she really had knowledge in balloon decoration. The decoration was just simple as per my instruction.  Too bad we didn’t have a nice photo of the venue with the balloons.

– INVITE

Her baptismal invite was made by my husband. It was Christmas-themed, just in time for the Christmas season in the year 2009.

– BAPTISMAL OUTFIT

Keisha has 3 sets of clothes that day. The long white gown that she used on the church, party dress, and a casual dainty pink dress. I wanted her to be like me, I wore 5 gowns on my debut and I super love clothes. I’m not the super fashionista type, I just wore clothes that look good on me and that’s what I wanted her to be. So even she was so small that time I took an effort to buy 3 sets of clothes for her. I want her to change every now and then just like a doll – she’s my beautiful doll, a doll that was sent to me from heaven.
