Busy As A Bee This October

Yes, time flies so fast and we’re down to the 10th month of the year. Excluding the Christmas season, October is my busiest, most exciting, happiest and most expensive month of the year. It’s lucrative because of the expenses we incur for the birthday celebrations of two of the most important people in my life – my dear husband and my daughter, Keisha.

Here are the occasions that I’ll be very busy with this month:

1. My husband’s birthday (Oct. 1)

Well, this took place a week ago. We had dinner here at home and invited some of our relatives, neighbors and few of my husband’s friends. The dishes were cooked by my in-laws and my auntie since I don’t cook well which, by the way, I’m not proud about. The birthday boy was the happiest and he enjoyed this day since all of the people that matters to him were all present except for her sister who’s working in Canada.

2. Keisha’s 3rd Birthday (Oct. 24)

I always plan Keisha’s birthday party ahead of time, atleast 4-6 months before her special day. I’m so OC when it comes to her parties because I always want to give her the best that I can. This is the mommy in me speaking now. Well, so far from her Christening up to the 2 birthday parties she had which I will share the details soon, this is the only time that I didn’t plan early. Maybe, it’s because I know we don’t have extra fund for her requested birthday party in McDonald’s. For the past few months, her heart was captivated by McDonald’s McCelebrations commercial and she always tells me “Mommy, I want birthday McDo” meaning she wants to celebrate her birthday in McDo. But, due to practical reasons, I’m not so sure if I can give what she wants. To be honest, I feel bad about this. If only we can invite limited guests then it’s fine but my husband and I belong to a big family. Our family alone is already 100 pax. And we don’t want to resort to uninviting some of our relatives and friends. Of course, we want all of them to be part of Keisha’s special day.

She will still have her party, here at the comfort of our own home, I guess. I already have a birthday theme in mind and I’m also checking where I can buy/order Keisha’s birthday outfit. This time around, Keisha’s opinion matters, as I’m asking for her approval on what she wants like with her party costume and theme. She’s able to see three pictures of dresses and she already made a choice. Haha! My baby is really big now and very smart. Proud mommy here!

Wherever it will be, my husband and I  will make sure that our daughter will enjoy and  even though, we can’t give the McDo party that she wants, I know for a fact, that she’ll love our birthday gift – a trip to HK DISNEYLAND.

3. Trick or treat

End of this month, there will be trick or treat here in our village and in malls. This is going to be Keisha’s 3rd time to line up with other kids and knock on our neighbors’ doors. Well, she hasn’t tried yet in malls. If I’ll get the chance to register her that will be her first time. My daughter will love it more now since she’s bigger and she has her own friends.

For now, I’m thinking of what costume she’ll wear. I don’t like scary outfits, I might order a pirate costume or I can pull out her Disney Princesses costumes, I hope those will still fit.

4. Planning for our Hongkong trip

This is our birthday gift for Keisha. I’m already done with our hotel reservation which, by the way, took me almost two months to decide which hotel to book. Now, since almost all the hotel prices are going up, I was already forced to book one with the guidance and help of my husband and my cousin, Ate Iris.

Now, I’m set to plan for our much-awaited Hongkong get-away. I hope we’ll enjoy our 4 nights, 3 days stay there.

How about you my lovely readers, what are your activities this October?

    1. Thanks for the greetings! Keisha is just her nickname, her real name is Elisha Kendra. Kelsey is a nice name. =)

  3. Thank God, it’s October! I’d been so busy last month because my daughter celebrated her 7th birthday. Advance happy birthday to your daughter! I’m sure she’ll enjoy the HK disneyland trip!

    1. Hi there! For sure, your daughter had a blast on her 7th birthday. I’m really praying that we’ll have fun in HK Disneyland! =)

  4. Busy month nga! But it sure is fun, so many birthdays, an activity for the little girl and a vacation! We usually do it in one go, like a birthday vacation for us adults or

  5. You’re like my husband when it comes to Halloween costume, he don’t want scary costumes or there’s a tail and covers the face of our daughter, he wants the pirate but sad to say what he showed me is for a boy outfit and I have to link it to my blog. You know, it should have to be unisex, not specifically “for a boy”. The one that is unisex don’t have her size so I opted a Minnie Mouse costume even if there’s a big ears accessories. 🙂 Anyway, happy vacation in Disneyland Hongkong then! Have fun (am sure you guys will do)! 🙂

  6. Busy month for the whole family indeed! Actually I have already been thinking of Din’s party next year. She will be 4. I want it simple and intimate but interesting. It will be Barbie next year LOL As for the HK Disney, it will come when she is five. 😀
