Factors To Consider In Buying Christmas Gifts

Gift-giving is what we love best about Christmas. Receiving and giving gifts both give unexplainable happiness in our hearts, may it be the gift that we are truly aspiring for Christmas or just a simple note that brightens our day.

Here are some factors to consider when you are buying Christmas gifts:

1) Budget

First and foremost, a budget has to be set. With the numerous people that you have to send gifts your 13th month pay may not be enough to cover all of your expenditures. Proper budget allocation is highly recommended. To achieve this, make a list of all your godchildren, family, relatives and friends then set aside an appropriate amount for each person or you can buy gifts at a different amount provided that the total should not exceed your budget. Stick to your budget to avoid financial trouble and enjoy this yuletide season.

2) Personality and Interest of The Recipient

When choosing a gift, you must consider the personality of an individual. This includes her interests and needs as of the moment. It’s important that they can make use of your gift and not just keep it in the cabinet. But, if the recipient is more of an item collector who loves displaying her shopping finds, then you can gift him/her with items for display.

3) Age

Age has to be considered when you’re buying gifts most especially for kids. What I personally do is I list the complete birth date of my godchildren and relatives so I can track yearly their age and I won’t be lost when buying them clothes or toys. Age-appropriate toys are highly recommended for kids so they can fully enjoy and learn from it.

4) Quality

With the current economic situation here in our country, most of us have limited budget for Christmas gifts but this is not an excuse for us to patronize low-quality inexpensive products. There are many affordable locally made products ranging from P20.00 for a simple clip for little girls to P100.00 worth cellphone case/pouch.  The key is, when you are on a tight budget, have enough patience to stroll around bazaars and, there you may find a quality product that is suited to your budget.

Happy shopping!

  1. i agree with the budget and personality of the recipient, this is something really we have to consider in order for the gift not just be useless gift because the recipient doesn’t really want it. So, i think cash or gift card maybe the best option.

  2. As what I have observed, #3, Age is what is mostly overlooked when my kids get gifts from school or from some of our relatives.. I have often felt bad for my kids when they get a toy that they can’t play with yet because it can pose as a threat to them, like there are parts that they might swallow or something..

I do what you do too, I keep track of my nephews’, nieces’, cousins’ and godkids’ birthday and it helps me to get them a gift they will enjoy when I give it to them. đŸ˜€
