Ways To Take Care Of Your Feet

Our feet are considered as the most used, tired and abused part of our body since they carry our whole body weight everyday. With our hectic schedule, we do not realize that we develop hard skin on our feet. And, because of this, a foot-friendly callus remover is what we need.

Let’s admit, that we don’t care much about our feet the way we do with our face. Oftentimes, we just wash our feet at night then sleep without thinking of any moisturizer to apply. We neglect them without thinking of the hard work they are doing for  us. We walk a thousand miles, run, jog, bike, etc. Carrying a 100 to 200 plus pounds body weight every single day is no joke. Hence, they deserve utmost care and attention as well.

Here are some ways on how you can properly take care of your feet:

  • Wash your feet as often as needed. Dirt and germs rapidly accumulate on your feet  without your knowledge. These are mainly caused by your daily activities, most especially, when you are only wearing slippers and open-toe sandals. Soak your feet with water and use an anti-microbial soap for cleansing. Do not forget to clean the spaces in between your toes, that is exactly where germs build-up. Dry your feet with clean towel.
  • Give yourself a foot scrub treat once or twice a month. Most of us, often seek the services of lucrative spas but, this can be done at home by yourself provided you know the procedure and you have the tools and products to be used. All you need is to soak your feet on a basin with lukewarm water. You can add foot solution or salt in the water. You can also put pebbles in it so you can glide your feet which will result in a more relaxing feeling. Exfoliate your dry, flaky skin by using a foot scrub and a glove. Rub all the areas of your foot gently, most especially the spaces in between your toes. You can’t get rid of your calluses (hardened skin) by just using a regular foot scrub product. You need a tool to remove the dead skin. Lately, I discovered  glass callus removers which are totally way better and safer than the old pumice stone and metal scraper that we traditionally use. The glass callus remover is made of Czech tempered glass. It is highly durable and very hygienic. This can perfectly remove your calluses and dead skin without damaging your skin. Unlike the old products that we use,  the pumice stone and the metal scraper, these two cause damage to our skin when not used properly and unhygienic. After the removal of dead skin, wash your feet again. Pat it dry and apply moisturizer in circular motion which is good for blood circulation.
  • Treat yourself with pedicure weekly or once every two weeks. It is better to do it yourself and use your personal pedicure set for sanitary purposes. If you can’t properly clean your toenails, you can go to nail salons provided you make sure that they disinfect the tools -nail cutter, pusher, nipper, etc. after every client.

I hope these tips can help you in maintaining the cleanliness of your feet.

  1. Yes sometimes we take for granted taking care of our feet. But one time I tried to go to the fish spa in the mall. After the fish spa they did the foot spa, by that time I felt relaxed.

  2. These are some great tips. I like to do my own home spa sorta and pamper my feet once in a while. I have an oil scrub that I got and it feels so good when you rub it on your feet. Oh my dear! The feet’s the part of our body that gets really tired and sore at the end of the day so it sure is nice to be able to pamper ourselves and our feet. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  3. I used to have a lot of corn (callus) when I was working at a department store many years back, although I still have some right now, it’s not as bad as I used to have..
