Costa Coffee in Manila: Coffee Goes #LondonStyle

Costa Coffee ManilaFor days you fancy a cup of real handcrafted, unique blended  coffee, freshly baked pastries, delectable cakes and sandwiches and experience London vibe, head on to Manila’s newest coffee habit in Eastwood Citywalk 1, Quezon City where the first Costa Coffee Shop in the Philippines is located. Yes, Costa Coffee, UK’s #1 coffee chain is finally here in Manila.

Costa CoffeeCosta Coffee in Eastwood Citywalk 1 officially opened its doors to the public last June 29, 2015 where coffee aficionados excitedly lined up to get a taste of #LondonStyle coffee. Special promotional offers were made on their first day like free Frostino Mocha Cream when ordered with a British accent. Also, first lucky 10 customers also received Free Costa Coffee for a year. How’s that?

Costa CoffeeCosta Coffee was established in year 1971 by two Italian brothers, Bruno and Sergio Costa who aspired to bring irresistible coffee in London. Their unique blend of coffee, a combination of Arabica and Robusta coffee beans, paved the way for it to become the leading global coffee shop brand with over 3,000 Costa stores around the world. And, we’re lucky to experience this as well in Manila. All thanks to Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc., for bringing the European coffee brand to the Philippines.

Costa Coffee 41Serving great coffee with over 40 years of expertise, Costa Coffee remains true to the original Mocha Italia – truly smooth, round rich blend of coffee, recipe that is still slow-roasted in the Old Paradise Street Roastery in London. No wonder why their coffee tastes extremely good and one-of-a-kind.

To ensure that the baristas will be serving the perfect cup of coffee the same as what they serve in London, Mark Schofield was present during the opening and will stay for few weeks to personally train their Filipino staff.

Costa Coffee Manila Costa Coffee Flat White (Php 150.00)

Costa Coffee’s best-seller is their Costa Flat White (hot or iced). It’s skillfully extracted shot of coffee called “Cortissimo” that is smothered in a thin layer of milk bubbles which is carefully poured by their expert baristas to form a florette. I instantly fell in love with the right blend of this one. No need to add anything. It’s perfect on its own. They also offer Costa Cappuccino, Costa Caffe Latte, Costa Flat White, Costa Americano and Costa Espresso.

Costa Coffee ManilaCosta coffees are all handcrafted and created using their signature Mocha Italia espresso based like this cold Costa Cappuccino.

Costa Coffee ManilaStrawberry Pavlova Frostino (Php 160.00 – P185.00 depending on size)

Frostino is a special new drink crafted to meet the sweet palate of Filipinos that comes in different flavors. This one is creamy and velvety, iced blended drink with strawberry bits and whipped cream. Perfect for non-coffee drinkers who love to hangout in coffee shops to chill. I will definitely reorder this again.

Costa Coffee does not only serve coffees, frostinos and other drinks, they also have wide selection of pastries, cakes, salads and sandwiches to match your favorite drink.

Here’s my personal favorite:

Costa Coffee ManilaI love the not too sweet taste of Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu paired with Costa Flat White  (whether iced or hot). Many are raving about the Melted Swiss Cheese with Mushroom  in Flatbread (Php 170.00) unfortunately, I wasn’t able to order it. I’ll  definitely order it next time.

Aside from good food, amazing coffee, rigorously trained barista and exceptional service, another thing you’ll love and will set you coming back to Costa Coffee is it’s London style look.

Check out the Union Jack-patterned sofas, the frames and the wood and brick accents all over. Everything is beautiful!

Costa Coffee ManilaNo wonder if this will be the #1 Coffee Chain shop in Manila as well.

  1. I love coffee! I’ve been to Costa Coffee in Korea and loved it. I’m glad to hear that someone from London flew over to personally train the staff—it gives me confidence that the quality of the coffee is really good. Looking forward to trying this soon! 🙂
