New batch of inspiring Filipino families to be honored in 5th Jollibee Family Values Awards

A new set of families pursuing notable advocacies will be conferred with the prestigious Jollibee Family Values Awards (JFVA) at the PICC Plenary Hall on September 24. Fifteen (15) entries were shortlisted from hundreds of nominations received, in which the top six major awardees and five special citations will be chosen from.

JFVAThis year’s entries are a showcase of uplifting and refreshing stories of compassion and solidarity that reflect a diverse mix of Filipino families making a difference in their communities through their own selfless deeds.

A handful of the shortlisted nominees championed the promotion of the welfare of minority groups, from persons with disabilities to Indigenous People. There were also first-of-its-kind entries advocating for social progress, unity and even music literacy.

JFVA finalists from Metro Manila include the Catanghal family of Pasig City; Tiosan family of Cainta, Rizal; and the Capilos, Castaneda, Ramirez and Rojas families of Quezon City.

Shortlisted nominees from Luzon include the Corpuz family of Mayantoc, Tarlac; Dumulot family of Botolan, Zambales; Pena family of Dasmariñas City, Cavite; and Mendoza family of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Coming from the Visayas and Mindanao regions are the Basa family of Roxas City, Capiz; Cagape family of Lagao, Gen. Santos City; and Mambuay family of Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Among the shortlisted overseas Filipino workers’ (OFW) families are the Gange family of San Jose, California and San Gabriel-Eng family of South San Francisco, California.

Five exemplary families will be chosen as the 5th JFVA winners, and one OFW family will receive the Global Pinoy Family of the Year award, each of whom will receive a cash prize worth P300,000, a trophy designed by renowned sculptor Michael Cacnio, and P10,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates. Special citations will also be bestowed to families who promote the following advocacies: Education (co-presented with National Bookstore), Environment (Landbank), Children (Children’s Hour and San Miguel-Purefoods), PWDs (National Council on Disability Affairs – NCDA), and Minority Groups (Kalipunan ng mga Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas – KATRIBU).
