Smiling is easy to do, free of charge and most importantly, lightens up one’s mood. Since smiling plays a big role in making an individual’s day better and brighter, it is but necessary that we take care of our teeth, since our pearly whites are the first thing that people will notice whenever we flash that big smile. As for my daughter, the moment her first set of milk teeth erupted, I made it sure to brush them every after meal followed by her scheduled dental appointments from time-to-time. By the time she learned to do it by herself, toothbrushing has unconsciously become part of her daily habit, especially after eating sweet foods, such as candy, cakes and ice creams among others.
It’s a blessing that I never had a hard time making her brush her teeth regularly as I ensure that she enjoys doing it rather than considering it as a sort of “obligation”. Sometimes, we do the role playing, where at the end, she’ll brush her teeth, sing a song and sometimes, we even do it together. I am just glad that my “way” of instilling proper oral hygiene to her was and is still effective. However, not all moms experience this easy breezy phase of encouraging their kids to habitually brush their teeth. For some, toothbrushing is a struggle and a major cause of their kid’s uncontrollable tantrums.
An obligatory photo with her fave Minion at Universal Studios Singapore.
To all my fellow moms who are enduring this kind of dilemma, I’ve got great news for you as your kids will surely jump for joy, scream “Bello!”, and sing “Banana…..” when it’s brushing time as Colgate, the leading oral health care brand in the country, has launched their new line of Minions Toothpaste and Toothbrushes specially designed for our little ones.
Yes, yes, yes, you read it right… The Minions are here and they will be your allies to back up your children’s oral hygiene. I saw it last week in grocery counters and I tell you, the designs are so cute and irresistible. No wonder Keisha and the other kids in the supermarket were insisting to grab one.
Being the number 1 Home Entertainment Release of 2013 and the number 1 selling animated digital title of all-time, not to mention that it’s ranked number 4 among the animated film in global box office history, I am quite sure that almost everyone – young and old, boys and girls are avid fans of these cute little fellas just like my little girl who extremely loves them to bits. Spell D-I-E-H-A-R-D! Haha! She adores Kevin, Stuart, and Bob so much that she watched all the Minions movies several times and even begged me to buy her Minions toys, notebooks, bags, shirts and the likes making them a part of our household. She even wanted to wear a Minions suit in her school’s costume party last year.
That’s why she couldn’t contain her excitement when she saw these Minion toothbrushes and immediately grabbed the toothpaste and toothbrush to brush her teeth.
Colgate Minions Manual Toothbrushes
Colgate Minions Manual Toothbrushes are not just your typical toothbrushes that “one size fits all”. They have developed different types of manual toothbrushes to cater to the unique oral needs of children. They have toothbrush specially designed for children aged 2-5 years old, as well as for aged 5 – 9 years old.
Junior (Age 2-5 Years)
The Colgate Minions Manual Toothbrush for 2-5 years old is best for this age group because they have delicate baby teeth and their molars are still developing. With these, extra care while toothbrushing must be done so as to avoid or prevent damage to the baby teeth.
Youth (Age 5-9 Years)
On the other hand, for children aged 5 – 9 years old, they already have a combination of baby teeth and adult teeth – these are still considered delicate and needs extra care, too! Apparently, this is the suggested toothbrush for Keisha since she’s 6 years old.

And of course to complete the fun, Colgate came up with a matching Minions toothpaste in Bubble Fruit Flavor. This is best for kids 6 years old and below. It has clinically-proven cavity and enamel protection, has a cool mint fruity taste and at the same time gentle in cleaning. This can preserve your child’s teeth because it will make it strong and avoid early signs of oral cavities. According to Keisha, she loves that it has that little minty feeling on top of its fruity taste.

As for some parents who find it difficult to make their children, especially the very young ones, brush their teeth regularly, Colgate has been constantly innovating to make brushing teeth fun. And I’m sure that with the presence of these cute yellow fellas kids will be more encouraged and enticed to brush and brush properly.
And to make brushing more exciting and happier for kids, I suggest for you to visit Colgate’s Mini Mouth Page where you and your kids can learn fun facts about oral care. Plus the Minions will be the ones teaching the importance of oral hygiene, now that sounds fun!
Some of the topics discussed are 9 Rules for Happy Brushing, 10 Facts about Your Mini Mouth, 4 Oral Care Tips for Kids and a lot more! As of today, Keisha is almost finished reading the tips of her Minion friends and surprisingly she’s more knowledgeable now when it comes to her oral healthcare.
