PROMIL FOUR iShine Talent Camp Year 6

School is almost over. My daughter has two weeks left to finish this academic school year and she’s very excited with the activities she’ll do this summer break. Since age three, I always make it a point that Keisha has extra-curricular activities during summertime. I am a believer of the holistic approach when it comes to kid’s development. Hence, engaging her with different activities is a great way for her to learn and explore new things, discover her innate talents and hone the abilities she has plus she get to meet new friends and interact with other kids. Oh, yes I’m the supportive and nurturing mom who encourages  and motivates her child to #nurturethegift she’s blessed with and explore her full potential.

It’s very timely that I received the invitation to attend the media preview of PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6. My daughter really wanted to join this camp ever since. So imagine her excitement the moment she knew we’re coming.

PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 is a venue for children to play and learn.  To help nurture our child’s gift, they continuously commit into helping the next generation of talents and allow them to discover and develop skills set focused in the field of Art, Engineering, Dance, and Music.

The event hosted by Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, commenced with a panel discussion featuring experts from different fields.

The panelists were (from left to right) Dr. Tippy Tanchanco – Clinic director and Consultant Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician of MedMom Institutde for Human Development, Consultant on Developmental Behavioral Pedia at The Medical City, Associate Professor of Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health; Dr. Leticia Ho, president and founder, Philippine Center for Gifted Education; Toni Gonzaga; Dimples Romana and Mary Jude “Jong” Icasiano – Food Scientist and Nutritionist.

Here are some of the highlights of the panel discussion:

  • In discovering your children’s gifts and talents, it’s important that you expose them to different things, by then you will know their interests at an early age.
  • Parents should be sensitive in identifying the developmentally appropriate skills of their kids.
  • Gifts and talents are different. According to Dr. Leticia Ho, gift pertains to the above average performance of a child academically while talent pertains to the above average performance of a child that is nurtured or inherited from his parents.
  • Parents are good in observing their kids but in the process, sometimes we tend to insist and only push the things that we want for our kids. And, miss the part that shows what our kids really want to be.
  • In developing your kids, make sure that you also focus on their emotional development and the capacity of the child to deal with adversity.
  • When you have two or more kids, don’t compare their development because they grow in different time and in different phase.
  • Proper nutrition, proper stimulation and proper parenting are needed when raising kids.
  • It’s the parent’s role to help their kids in nurturing their gift.

PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 is the best venue to help your kids discover and hone their skills. Over the years, they have produced kids that excel in the areas of music, dance, and arts.

The brand manager of PROMIL® Four, Ms. Yvette Villegas, said that the i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 brings a whole new fun, and learning experience for parents and their kids.

“We’re so excited to finally open the most exciting PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 yet, where we will witness, once again, the awesome talents of the young participants.”

The PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 showcases four different workshops namely, Music, Dance, Arts, and Engineering. Each workshop will be spearheaded by the best names in their respective fields.

Teacher Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids will lead a new set of workshops focused on Engineering.

Teacher Robert Alejandro and his team from Papemelroti will handle the Art Workshop.

Maestro Ryan Cayabyab returns as the camp master who will lead the Music Workshop.

Teacher Georcelle Sy, of the G-Force Dance School for the Dance Workshop

The kids had the opportunity to experience a glimpse of the four workshops. They were able to unleash their creative side by doing some art activities and learned the basics of engineering.

Musically-inclined kids were all giddy because they were mentored by the Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.

And, grooved to the choreography of G-Force. Teacher Georcelle’s team taught the kids the dance steps to the song, Rolex. I was surprised that Keisha was chosen to dance in front to represent her group. Of course, she grabbed that moment and danced all the way. I always tell her that when she’s given the opportunity to shine, she has to make it worth it. She must do her best and perform with her heart. And, that’s what she did. Oh, I’m such a proud mom! =)

After all the mini-workshops, Keisha kept on begging me to enroll her to the Dance Camp. And, to my surprise, Teacher Georcelle came up and told me that she chose Keisha to be part of her G-Force Scholar. I was literally shookt and teary-eyed. Thank you so much, Teacher G!
